Marshall Man auctions courtesy of Coolbotz.com

Loyal fans and readers, every once in a while we like to take some nostalgia candy and toss it up for grabs to the highest bidder to stir the waters and give hope that old cool pieces of gear can still be had on the internet.  So for November we're going to auction off this Goodmans Midax 15 ohm horn. If you're a Vox collector looking to replace one in your Super Beatle cabs or Royal Guardsmen cabs, you know how incredibly damn hard it is to even find one, much less for sale. So, here it is.

Line6 Pod 1.0
We have this old Line 6 Pod kicking around. There's no power supply, so we're going to garage sale it off AS IS. This would make a fantastic paperweight or art sculputre.

Steve Miller Band "Guitar Galaxy" Stage Set
We've always thought that Steve Miller was kind of a cool guy; guitar slinger, appreciation for the blues, Bay Area socialite, etc. On this tour, Steve has a pretty cool piece of stage scenery: the Guitar Galaxy.  One of the coolest and innovative sets seen in a long time.

It consists of a canvas backdrop with the image of a swirling guitar cluster. Note, there are lights attached to the canvas that follow the path of the swirl to make it more galaxy like. Then in front of it is a netting with cloth guitars attached. The guitars represented are taken from Steve's collection. But, blowing all this out of the water, is a giant Strat headstock with neon strings suspended from the center of the lighting rig. And the tuning machines are lights. There are some great shots of the set on Steve's web site and a making of the set video is available here.

Marshall Man snapped pics of this set upclose in the day time to show you more of the behind the scene theatre look to it. Click to enlarge

Band Coats! Get your 'Peppers out!!|
Jimi would approve. Marshall Man now has a selection of high school band uniforms. OK, before you go off and start emailing us about prices, sizes and "do you have any french horn concertos", let us tell you right now, these will not fit anyone. They are small. Like middle school small. We just wanted to front how cool we are. You wont see these babies at Guitar Crazy.

Slide Session work with Gerhard Helmut!
This january of the new year Twenty Ten, yours truly Marshall Man, tracked slide guitar parts for our pal Gerhard Helmut (he of Shady Lady fame) who was putting together the music for a TV commercial. We used one of our Supro guitars, straight out of the herd and had a fabulous time.

Side note: we did indeed use a Shure SM 57 on a small Marshall combo. Put that in your pipe Bob Rock.

On March 22rd, 2008, New Zealand celebrated its biggest rock event ever: Rock2Wgtn, a 2 day festival at Westpac Stadium in Wellington, featuring KISS, Ozzy Ozbourne, Alice Cooper, White Snake, and Poison.

Marshall Man was thrilled to provide the vintage marshall amp backline, needed to fuel this rock event. When it came down to the wire, only Marshall Man had the inventory to make it happen.
