You've Got To Love Your Man
(The Voice of Katherine Amory)
You've gotta love your man;
the way he walks out of the rain
and into your arms,
how he holds his cigarette,
the way he pours his drink
and the way he pours yours.
You've gotta love your man;
smelling of whiskey and bacon,
his eyes a solemn blue,
one on the door, one on the window.
Sometimes he'll look at you.
You've gotta love your man;
his brown suit wrinkled, his brown shoes scuffed,
his face unshaven, his hands bandaged,
but lips so soft and moist
like a drop of rain from a leaf.
And then he leaves.
You've gotta love your man;
Hating is too easy.
